The new Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Brut
The “Best Wine by Varietals” award at the Paris Wine Cup 2022 went to its FARDÉR, Prosecco D.O.C. Treviso Extra Dry, once again bringing Follador Prosecco dal 1769 to the public’s attention on the international wine circuit. The top spot on the French podium with Best Prosecco by Varietal is a great satisfaction for the company from Valdobbiadene, whose winning entry was chosen by the Judging Panel from scores of sparkling wines from all over the world, rated according to the distinctive parameters of the competition: quality, value for money and packaging.
Vinitaly is back and so is Follador, with its latest newcomer, lots of enthusiasm and a strong desire to get back to normal. Follador Prosecco dal 1769 is looking forward to attending one of the top wine trade shows on the international circuit, which will be held in Verona from 10 to 13 April 2022 after an absence of two years.
STAND F5 - Hall 5 will be the venue for the launch of the company’s latest innovative offering: FOSÉLIOS is its new Millesimato Brut D.O.C.G., developed to encourage young people (aged 20 to 30) into the complex and fascinating world of D.O.C.G. wines, fully expressing the excellence of the Valdobbiadene terroir and all its characteristics.
A symbol of light, conviviality and youth, the name Fosélios derives from the Greek noun Phos (meaning “Light”), together with the name Helios, the “Sun God”. The bright, “fluorescent” yellow hue of the bottle’s cap hints at the brilliant properties of this fresh, pleasantly sapid and decidedly fruity spumante which offers clean notes of green apple and pear and a delightful floral finish.
“We were inspired by the sensory characteristics of the wine and chose to give it a name that evokes sunlight, musical and soft just like its bouquet – said Cristina Follador, the company’s Sales & Marketing Director - Fosélios is a tribute to the joie de vivre of young people whose social lives over the past two years have been severely restricted but who can now enjoy some of the top wines Italy has to offer”.
The wine has been given an added touch of originality that will appeal to the younger generation because, when a LED light is shone on the label, the Follador logo and the name of the wine “light up” with a surprising luminous effect, making any toast a truly festive and memorable occasion.
Fosélios is vinified according to the Gianfranco Follador™ Method, where secondary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using the Charmat method, followed by steady fermentation and at least two months on the lees at 0°. Its Vegan Friendly status, like all Follador dal 1769 proseccos, means it can also be enjoyed by those who prefer a vegan lifestyle, ever more popular among young people.
Vinitaly affords yet another opportunity to celebrate the ancient origins of this prominent company which has become a benchmark throughout the Veneto wine community, thanks to the passion and work of the Follador family and the ongoing innovative spirit of siblings Michele, Cristina, Francesca and Emanuela.
