Great Success at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge

Follador Prosecco dal 1769’s D.O.C.G. sparkling wines receive medals at the French GILBERT & GAILLARD 2022 competition: with the “Double Gold”, the highest distinction in these prestigious awards, the famous company from Col San Martino leads Italy to triumph.

Follador Prosecco dal 1769 scored a hat trick at the International Challenge 2022 organised by GILBERT & GAILLARD, one of the most authoritative wine guides in France for more than thirty years. Picking up no fewer than three “DOUBLE GOLDS”, the highest accolade awarded by the prestigious commission headquartered in Bailly, the renowned Prosecco producer from Col San Martino has scored yet another international success.

The top spot on the podium went to XZERO Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Millesimato Extra Brut, NANI DEI BERTI Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Millesimato Brut and RUIOL CASTEI Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Millesimato D.O.C.G. Extra Dry: these are three of the premium wines produced by the company and recipients of numerous awards at major international competitions.

“It's an honour for our wines to be chosen by such a prestigious jury of experienced experts - said Cristina Follador, the company’s Sales & Marketing Director – occasions like this are a great opportunity for the whole team to come together and celebrate our successes, sharing their ideas, opinions and experiences in person with the incredible positive energy which comes from sharing.”

Honesty, creativity and participation are the cornerstones of the Follador family, whose values and traditions have been handed down for more than two and a half centuries in Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The recipe to their success is an incredible combination of history, passion and the close bond they share with their land: the know-how of nine generations of winemakers is now in the hands of siblings Michele, Cristina, Francesca and Emanuela Follador, who have experienced all the annual vine-growing rituals first-hand since they were children: budding, blossoming, the ripening of the grapes and then the harvest. Each of them has a precise role in the family business which complements their particular interests and they work together to produce a range of wines with a fine bead and rich bouquet, lovingly created in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore production area.
